The book begins with a wise quote by Mahatma Gandhi:
"The weak tin never forgive. Forgiveness is the attribute of the potent."
Some may concur, some may disagree. And I won't contradict.
Only is the forgiveness automatically acceptance??! You may forgive, but information technology doesn't mean you must accept this person in your life over again. My stance.
The heroine was a good woman, and she definitely deserved better.
The hero was lame. Just lame. I don't deny he loved her, just he lived 8 years without her and if non for the twist of withal valid marriage, he would accept enjoyed his life without her for many years more than.
I didn't feel their connection, I wish she met a decent man and moved on with her life.
I skipped all sexual practice-scenes, and it's smth I don't do ofttimes *lol* He commanded her trunk. Yep, cool, well, hmm.
Well written, some sweet moments, not enough epilogue and NO indication, who volition be Harper's partner. Ugh!
Safety: both not celibate during separation. Both! Yep, she was Non chaste - bang-up! ;-)
Looking forward to the next book. Delight non a 2nd chance, pretty please!!!

I gave the first book in the Stay series, "The Start of Something New" 5 stars and I want to give this book even More! Jennifer Probst has now go a "Must Buy" romance author for me.
After high schoolhouse, Ophelia Bishop and Kyle Kimpton knew they are meant to be together forever and they have big dreams. Ophelia wants to get a famous singer and Kyle wants to become a famous screenwriter. They take off together for Hollywood. Every bit dreams begin to come true, not everything is the manner they thought it would be. Ophelia returns home to run the family B&B and Kyle returns to their Hollywood apartment to find her gone.
10 years have passed and Kyle feels he has to render to his hometown to write his electric current screenplay. He has congenital his fame and reputation on activeness films, only this projection takes him in a new direction. He wants to write a love story. His and Ophelia'due south story, just he wants to change the ending.
Ophelia still has feelings for Kyle, merely he broke her center earlier and she knows it could happen all over again if she lets him in. Can Ophelia forgive Kyle and learn to trust in his beloved once again and tin can Kyle learn the reasons Ophelia returned abode and empathise her true feelings?
This is a beautiful second chance love story. Forgiveness is a major theme throughout, not only for the H/h, but as well for Kyle and his recovering alcoholic father. Keep the tissues handy. Ophelia is such a multilayered heroine. Kyle has to larn to listen and really run across things from her signal of view to understand the truth of their relationship bug. This story delves into the gray areas of a relationship and non just the black and white. I also enjoyed Kyle writing his romance story within this story. It highlighted and contrasted well with Kyle's shifts in agreement from the by to the present. The sexual practice scenes are explicit, advisable to the story and fun.
Ophelia and Kyle'southward story is heartwarming, funny, sexy, a tear-jerker and everything I want in a 2d chance romance. This book tin exist read as a standalone, but the first book in the series was likewise a bully read that I recommend. I laughed at Hei Hei'due south antics once again. I love the realistic secondary characters of this small-scale town community and cannot await to return for Harper's story.

Ophelia Bishop lives in the small town of Gardiner in upstate New York where she runs the family bed-and-breakfast, Robin's Nest B&B. She stays very decorated with the life she'southward carved out for herself. Everything is great until the man who broke her centre years ago returns to wreak havoc on her life. Ophelia hasn't seen Kyle Kimpton in almost a decade. She hoped she'd never meet him again, only here he is in her town. Kyle was her childhood best friend, and her kickoff honey. They'd run off to LA together to follow their dreams, then Ophelia realized they wanted different things and returned home. She felt he'd chosen his career over her. She no longer fit in the new life they'd created for themselves.
Kyle had found fame as a screenwriter in Hollywood, merely the cost he'd paid had been too high. He'd lost the only woman he'd ever loved. He finally had information technology all, but realized nothing mattered without her. No matter how hard he tried, he couldn't forget her. He remembered a fourth dimension when they were each other'southward safe identify. She was his own personal sanctuary. He swore he'd never return dwelling, but it's fourth dimension to reclaim what he'd lost, and fight for a second hazard. He was determined to brand things correct with Ophelia, and prove she could trust him again.
-She was the just one who'd e'er made him feel whole.
-He'd fight to get her back.
-She meant everything to him.
-"It'southward still there." She stiffened. "What?" His voice dropped to a low, velvety growl. "Our connexion. My trunk remembers yours. Every inch of your peel is ingrained in my retentiveness. The scent of that lavender-and-dear lotion yous wore, and the fashion your optics plow to blue fire when you're mad, and how your smile can make a whole room hold its breath."
-Their bodies still belonged to each other, no matter how many years had passed.
Kyle wants to confront their past, and figure out where things went wrong, but Ophelia was withal aroused and injure. He conspicuously had his work cut out for him in earning her forgiveness, just he had to at least try. He believed their story wasn't finished, and wanted a future with her.
Ophelia had never gotten over Kyle or been able to fully motion on. She'd tried to forget what they had, merely nobody had e'er loved her as passionately and completely as Kyle. He'd once been her everything, simply at present he was a stranger. She had to go on her distance in order to protect her middle, but Kyle was persistent. He made her feel vulnerable, and the raw chemistry betwixt them came to life whenever they were close. She soon realized she still ached for his touch on as they give in to explosive want. Being in his arms was similar going dwelling house again, only how could she leap into the unknown and permit herself fall again if he would be leaving before long?
I loved this book so much! Information technology's a best friend's little sister romance well-nigh broken promises, regrets, forgiveness, soul mates, and second chances. The bulletin I took away was nosotros tin can't alter our past, just we tin always change our ain catastrophe. It's never likewise belatedly to follow your heart, and grab concord of your own HEA! This story centered around the about beautiful love, but too had the nigh delicious seduction. This man adored his lady, and didn't run across anyone just her. She was it for him, and was his whole eye!

And then the claiming right off the bat for me was to embrace and actually care for Kyle, the hero. Here was a soft spoken, sexy, supposedly remorseful, famous, screenwriter guy, who was so cocky-absorbed/clueless, he all the same had no idea years later why his lady beloved left him high and dry out in Hollywood to head back to their small hometown. Not surprisingly, we detect out Ophelia felt Kyle cared virtually himself more than her and then decided to completely wipe him from her memory banks. Folks, I'yard likewise not overly fond of a chump heroine who slinks off and doesn't leave behind a huge piece of her mind to prepare things straight earlier grabbing her suitcase and slamming the door behind her.
Another challenge for me was to empathize "why" in general? Why did it take Kyle so long to supposedly finally come to his senses? His demand to profit/do good from their past history seemed selfish and self-serving, despite the fact he too wanted her back. Why did Ophelia not ready him straight when she get-go left him? Why did they stay apart for and so many years? Why and how could they possibly have kept their relationship cloak-and-dagger when they had the same family unit/friends back home?
So I'm left feeling this storyline needed a brand new beginning, my fellow romance book loving friends. On summit of all this was the fact past 67% into it, I realized nil pregnant had really happened. Boredom had slowly just surely prepare in to the betoken I no longer cared how it all wrapped up. Not even the flashbacks particularly grabbed my attention or interest.
I likewise found it very disheartening neither were chaste during their very long separation. As well, how could they not have suspected something was amiss when a certain something didn't show up in the postal service?
My "why" conundrum became a "whatever" one. Though I normally really exercise bask this author, this book only wasn't as good as I had hoped. Here's to hoping others really enjoy it. I found the writing and plot to exist mediocre.
Romance Safety Gang: (view spoiler)[ We notice out the couple ran off and got married when they left for Hollywood hoping for fame and fortune. She felt he was ignoring her/shutting her out of his life every bit he got all wrapped up in his ain career. She up and left him, and he didn't come after her. They didn't tell their family they had married. They filed for divorce only information technology never got finalized. They were with other people over the ten yr separation...simply did non know they were still married. He decides he wants her back. (hide spoiler)]

Almost a decade later, it's time to face up the music once more, and despite the fact she already said no, her brother arranged for Kyle to stay at the inn for 3 months. She'll simply have to deal with his presence, simply it'south easier said than done when strong emotions and painful memories have upwardly all the room.
Blocked for virtually a year at present, the screenwriter is back in Gardiner to piece of work on a new project. And to inquire Ophelia for a second chance. But the young woman still accept resentments and she haven't forgive him notwithstanding. She's not certain she can trust and give her middle again. She might accept been the 1 to walk away, just he didn't fight for her. She'south afraid the past will repeat itself, simply will she be able to go on her altitude ?
I'm the first surprised that I enjoyed this book despite the fact Kyle was less than "the perfect hero" type. I'm all virtually second chance, as long as the guilty part learn from the mistakes and try to make improve for it. But even now, Kyle didn't seem to understand her. He didn't become why she can't give him her trust easily and didn't want to take chances her middle over again. And I felt like one time again, he still didn't listen to her nor tried to understand her fashion of thinking. At the terminate, he finally understood what was of import and did what matter simply why this romance worked for me ? I don't have a clue.. I guess I enjoyed their journeying to forgiveness. And the theme of redemption was present in a subplot about the hero and his father who brought something interesting too. And I liked that we saw again Ethan, Mia and Harper.

Sadly, it didn't impress me all that much, although the secondary plotline - virtually the hero rebuilding his relationship with his recovering-alcoholic male parent - was truly poignant and very well done. The romance, notwithstanding, was less impressive; in that location's no real human relationship development or sense of ii people who have been apart for about a decade coming to know each other equally they are NOW, which is what always draws me to second-adventure romances. Plus, the central characters are fairly bland; I couldn't connect with the heroine who is Practically Perfect in Every Way (when it comes to her business, at least) and the hero isn't ane I'm going to remember beyond the writing of this review.

This is a charming and emotional second chance romance that mostly takes place in a small town, simply it reaches to the glitz, glamour, and struggles of the Hollywood scene. When yous're young and in dearest you think you can get through anything. Yous think y'all can conquer the world and not suffer the consequences. Ophelia and Kyle thought they were stiff plenty…thought their love could withstand whatsoever obstacles. They were so incorrect. Fast forward almost a decade, and Kyle returns to claim what he'd lost all those years ago. Ophelia isn't having it. She wants nothing to do with the boy she once loved with all of her heart. Merely when sure circumstances pushes them together again, the love that she idea was cached, comes rushing back in full forcefulness. The dreams they had aren't as important anymore. A new dream blossoms between them…the dream of undeniable and unconditional love.
I loved these 2 characters so damn much! Together and separately, they held their own in this story. I admired how Ophelia stood her ground in the outset. Merely I loved how Kyle was able to knock down some of her defenses, giving her the opportunity to trust once again. I loved how when Kyle was writing his story, he learned and then much from Ophelia's POV, softening him fifty-fifty more. I managed to make it through this story without a single tear, only when the epilogue came nearly, I was a goner. Happy tears though…zip but happy tears in the finish.

I really liked this. The south Ophelia and Kyle are all-time friends who ran away to Hollywood at 18 to chase their dreams. Kyle made it, Ophelia did not she then returned habitation to run her family's bed and breakfast in upstate New York. Ophelia is non happy with his render and is afraid of getting her heart broken again.
I really liked this. The setting of the bed and breakfast is interesting to me. I didn't realize how much piece of work went into it. The best part though is through Kyles writing we go to learn the real story in what went downwardly in Hollywood. Kyle actually grew as a person as he learned that that his version of events wasn't really the true story as he began to tell the story through Ophelia's POV. I thought it was a unique way of telling the story through past and current events. I loved touching base with Ophelia'south brother and Mia from book 1 besides as her sis Hannah who meliorate become her own book presently. I've always enjoyed this authors writing. 4 stars. ...more
Jennifer Probst's A Brand New Ending is not an exception. In fact, her story cut me raw with the empathizing emotions it conveys.

Once again, I jumped at the chance to exist an early on reader of a Jennifer Probst title, equally she has speedily go one of my favourite authors. By at present, I've come to await sure things from Probst's books, including enjoyable and unique characters, realistic struggles, a fast-paced plot, and tons of steam and swoon. I retrieve, for the about function, "A Brand New Ending" delivered what I was expecting.Starting with the characters, they were great, as anticipated. Kyle is not afraid to wear his heart on his sleeve, which means he's pretty articulate with Ophelia - he wants a 2d hazard with her, and he'southward not giving up without giving it all he's got. Ophelia, understandably, is petrified that she is going to have her heart shattered once again if she gives Kyle a second hazard, but eventually he convinces her to give their relationship some other shot. Hopefully, they won't mess things upwards again!
I too always enjoy how Probst is able to weave secondary storylines or characters into her novels. In this example, my heart was gradually won over by a geriatric rescue canis familiaris, and to a bottom extent, Kyle'due south dad. I fifty-fifty shed a few tears at the culmination of this book, to my surprise!
As for the pacing, I experience that this is 1 area that could have been improved. Information technology's possible that because there are several flashbacks from the present to the past, things felt sluggish. Usually, I beloved dual timelines in romance novels because they seem to add an chemical element of suspense - what on globe happened to brand these 2 then estranged, when they are so obviously meant for each other? - but in this case, I plant myself constantly losing focus. I wanted things to movement along more quickly, especially in the present.
Of course, just considering "A Brand New Ending" wasn't my favourite Probst title, doesn't mean it's non skilful. I'm still glad I read it, and I'm sure most contemporary romance fans will concur.

Standalone, 2nd in a Related Serial
After reading The Outset of Something Proficient, I was excited for Ophelia's story, so I jumped right into A Brand New Ending . Though once once again told in third person, I figured now that I was into the series, I may not detect as much.
I enjoy second chance romances. In this case, Kyle and Ophelia were high school sweethearts who, at 18 ran off to Hollywood together. He wanted to be a screenwriter and she wanted to be a vocaliser. Kyle started hitting information technology large as a screenwriter immediately, and within two years Ophelia was dorsum habitation running the family's B & B.
Nobody ever knew what happened between them, and so ten years later, when Kyle needed to come back dwelling house to find his muse again, Ophelia'south brother welcomed him, not knowing Ophelia never wanted to run across him once more.
"The crux of information technology is one simple lesson: we all deserve to give ourselves a second risk. It doesn't negate the pain we put others through, and it's not a get-out-of-jail-free card. Reparations still need to be made. But without second chances, we'd be stuck in the gutter for life."
If Kyle came dorsum knowing how badly he screwed up, I may have accepted it, but honestly, he was clueless. And the fact that he never fabricated information technology his business organisation to find out what happened betwixt them really turned me off. It seemed similar he was back considering of the surprise he plant, and for the story he was writing more than than for Ophelia.
"Forgiveness was such a twisted, thorny affair—like shooting fish in a barrel to preach and hard to practice."
The story was told with a lot of flashbacks which are always difficult in audio, because when y'all read, they are usually in italics, but you can't "hear" italics. Though I liked the book-within-a-book theme, I accept to admit, while I enjoyed the listen for the virtually part, I merely got bored. I was ready for it to end so I can get to the adjacent book on my list. I was hoping it would perk upward at the end.
"Beginnings are necessary and cherished, only it's the endings that will make a person think you lot forever."
Simply for me information technology never did. I liked the story, just I just never felt the couple'southward connection, and I don't recall he truly learned from his mistakes.
My favorite part of A Brand New Ending was actually the complicated relationship between Kyle and his estranged father.
"Sometimes, it wasn't about endings at all. Sometimes, it was all nigh new ancestry."

Given the chance, the 2 find they all the same have some zing. Trust in everything is nevertheless a huge barrier for them to move forward. I liked that both Kyle and Ophelia were able to take a stride back and look at things from the others prospective. I loved that they both needed to re-write their ending.
The beautiful wintery setting at a B & B farm just rounds out all the goodness in this story. Not many clues given about baby sister Harper, just I accept a feeling she is going to exist a tough nut to crack. Looking forward to reading more than!

I am loving second adventure romances. I hateful who does not honey a second chance at love with the person y'all were meant to be, correct? A Brand New Ending by Jennifer Probst had all the best second adventure feels! Ophelia Bishop and Kyle Kimpton were bright eyed, happy and in dearest when they followed their dreams to Hollywood. But when things did not go every bit planned and choices had to be made, they went their divide ways.Ophelia returned home broken-hearted and no longer that naïve girl who believed in fairytales. Instead she now runs a business organization and moved on. Kyle knows he hurt Ophelia and was wrong in letting her become, only can he show her they can take a new ending?
So much injure and misunderstandings stand in their way, merely feelings cannot exist denied. Can Ophelia and Kyle discover their second chance or is it too late? I have to say because all their history and hurt feelings, this was a charming and sweet read. Ophelia was hurt, but her feelings for Kyle never disappeared. And Kyle is determined to bear witness Ophelia what she means to him. A Brand New Ending was refreshing and engaging.

I thought the story was very interesting. It had and then many layers to it with lots of 2nd chances. I'll thank the author for the difficult subject that was tackled direct on...Kyle's dad. His habit made life courses that were painful. If yous know addiction is in your family it is meliorate y'all never drink. I've seen how generations are affected. This story is more than that, of course. Kyle had lots of soul searching to do, along with growing upward in those years and at present in the three months he is staying at B&B.
So, information technology'southward a expert story with compelling characters. And it has a nice ending.

Kyle's dorsum in his hometown for ane reason - to get dorsum his love, Ophelia. Yeah, he's too back to write his newest screenplay, but that's secondary to what he really wants. But, when it becomes apparent to him that non simply does Ophelia not realize he'southward dorsum in town, but, more significantly, she doesn't want him back, what'south a drastic man to do? Perhaps his all-time friend, Ethan, Ophelia's blood brother, volition assistance. Of course, Ethan has no thought what happened between his sister and his best friend, except that they had a falling out x years previous. In a prissy twist, Ophelia falls sick, and Kyle is the merely one there to accept care of her and her family'south inn. After that, how can Ophelia say no to letting him stay the 3 months he needs to get past his writer's block? And, sneakily, worm his way dorsum into Ophelia'south heart.
I love 2d adventure romances, IF the two deserve a second chance. I'm still not sure Kyle deserved a 2nd run a risk, but Ophelia definitely deserved happiness, then I can give Kyle a pass even though I never liked him or continued with him. But, I liked the rest of the story and so even though Kyle left me cold, I think iv stars is off-white. I love that this is a story of forgiveness and healing, and the secondary bandage is superb. I promise Ophelia and Ethan's sis Harper's story is adjacent, because she's hiding a lot underneath that seemingly placid exterior, I think!

Stupidly I was drawn to the blurb, knew I'd enjoyed some of Jennifer's stories earlier and didn't bank check. This serial isn't going to be for me, I didn't like the first volume, and didn't enjoy this one. My bad, its a expert story for many readers, only doesn't conform my taste.
I simply didn't actually understand why these two split, why Ophelia just left, why he didn't seek her out before, and what had changed. She still didn't desire the life he led, he still didn't want hers. I know Love conquers all, but when two people have such wildly differing ambitions tin can they ever exist happy. One of them is going to have to fold, and in the long term will that work? I wasn't convinced past the catastrophe. Maybe if I'd liked either grapheme a flake more, or even felt that they were truly suited, but if and so why didn't they work at getting dorsum together before, why wait? The timing now seemed a little too user-friendly, if I was Ophelia I'd be thinking, Now he's got fourth dimension, why non before and equally if I was Kyle I'd be thinking Is she just going to spook and disappear again? At that place needed to be some serious love between them for it to work, and if in that location was how could they simply stay abroad all those years. Maybe I'm too much the cynic.
Stars:Ii and a half, I liked it a little more than volume one, simply wasn't convinced past the story. I'll still expect for Jennifer's books but make a note that this item serial isn't for me.

4.v Write a brand new ending StarsNow I really wish they had used the cheesy and adorable phrase of write a brand new ending in the volume alas it was fine. This is book ii in the stay serious however both are strandalone and you don't miss much of the story by not reading it in social club. I feel if you lot read it in order you lot are really interested in Ophelia'southward story and have more investment. This story is about Ophelia and her long lost love Kyle. She never lost Kyle she left him because he lost himself. Ophelia and Kyle rand off to Hollywood to be writers and singers and Ophelia found out Hollywood wanted more than a singer and her husband was wanted by Hollywood more than he wanted her. This story is about Ophelia'south hurting and loss she experienced as well as Kyle's determination to win her back. What holds me off on this is Kyle's character. I didn't enjoy information technology. He was written in lovely and most of the boxes were checked with me but I experience their story didn't have a good enough resolution for me for me to bail with his grapheme which acquired their story to be a tad flat.
This book however has great stream, conversation and growth and is a experience good romance and gives happy endings as is traditional with the author
I love how connected to the first book this is. I really enjoyed the first book and this dropping right into the same "world" was a prissy surprise. I don't read a lot of 2d chance romance but the way this one was washed made me enjoy it more than I thought I would. These two were so perfect for each other and their chemistry was on fire. I couldn't get enough of information technology.
Jennife
Sigh....Jennifer really knows how to do classic swoony romance. This is lite angst, center fluttering, can't put down reading.I love how connected to the first book this is. I really enjoyed the get-go volume and this dropping right into the same "world" was a nice surprise. I don't read a lot of 2nd chance romance but the way this one was done made me savor it more I thought I would. These two were and so perfect for each other and their chemistry was on fire. I couldn't get enough of it.
Jennifer is amazing and her writing is perfection. This is a perfect example of why she is on my must read list.

...moreI loved The Start of Something Good simply I loved A Brand New Ending fifty-fifty more! It's emotional and sweet and full of the #feels! Jennifer Probst outdid herself in this book!
Equally y'all know, I am such a fan of 2nd-hazard romance and the brother's best friend trope. This book has BOTH! Then, it definitely had me from the start!

I loved The Start of Something Skilful but I loved A Brand New Ending even more! It'due south emotional and sugariness and full of the #feels! Jennifer Probst outdid herself in this book!
As you know, I am such a fan of second-chance romance and the brother's all-time friend trope. This book has BOTH! So, it definitely had me from the showtime!
In A Brand New Ending, Kyle, a popular screenwriter is dorsum in his hometown and is trying to rewrite history and win the love of his life. Ophelia and Kyle ran away to Los Angeles to pursue their careers, merely Ophelia gave up on hers and returned home broken-hearted.
I really loved that the hero is the one chasing after the girl this fourth dimension. And while this is a tried and true plot, I like the slight changes that Jennifer Probst used to spin this plot. I besides liked the fact that Ophelia stood her ground and did not cave right abroad even though she however had feelings for Kyle.
A Make New Catastrophe is too near forgiveness and redemption. We get Kyle's backstory and how he became what he is. And I also loved the decisions he made in the end.
Another amazing animal character in this volume is Charlie, the senior Blackness Labrador that gets fostered by an unlikely character! I agree that animals can heal even the evilest human being so yay for this!
Jennifer Probst weaves an interesting and heartbreaking romance that ends in an amazing and surprising HEA! I highly recommend A Brand New Ending!

There has to be something because I didn't feel continued to the story or its characters. It's happening the aforementioned equally the last time I accept read an ARC - I've been reading it for ages. Or at least that's how long it feels to me.Is it me? Am I not reading it at the appropriate time? I've never needed more than ten days to read a book. NEVER. And now information technology happened twice in a row. TWICE.
Do I need some time to go my reading mojo dorsum or something? Or maybe I have only been reading books that are not my loving cup of tea?
Because allow me tell you something. I've read Jennifer Probst'due south books before. I loved Wedlock to a Billionaire series.
But this one...
I just don't know what'south wrong. I read couple pages and and then lose interest. And this has been happening for days now. Days. All other books look more highly-seasoned but I just can't bring myself to beginning more than than one e-book at the time.
Or perhaps it's the characters.
There was no romance. Nothing that could brand me swoon. He was e'er working in his room and came out only to make love to her and to eat. Okay, twice they were together outside of b & b but otherwise nothing.
There were couple flashbacks - many of them unnecessary.
I think the author put besides much attempt into making side characters likable - which they were - Hei Hei, Harper, and others. Just she forgot to make the main ones lovable. I felt most no romance between them. No flirting. No making out outside b & b. It felt like all book revolved almost what happened in the b&b. I got the glimpse of what I wanted in the ending but I already knew that I can't give more than 3 stars then.
ARC provided via NetGalley in commutation for an honest review. I voluntarily read and reviewed an avant-garde re-create of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
